Janice Ballard - Music Director We are excited to announce that Janice Ballard will be joining our staff as Director of Music. Janice will arrive on Island March 12. Janice comes to us well-versed in sacred music serving as choir director for both adult and children choirs. She has also developed hand-bell ministries and summer music programs for youngsters. Her most recent position has been the Director of Music at a Methodist church in Darlington, South Carolina. She has also served in her native Asheville, NC, as well as in Alabama and Kentucky. In addition to her church vocations, Janice has taugh music in elementary and pre-schools. She coordinated mission events and has been involved in outreach to immigrant communities. She is also a private music instructor. If your child has been plunking around in ways that make you think you may have a prodigy on your hands, speak with Janice soon. Janice holds Masters Degree in Divinity and Church Music from Souther Baptist Theological Seminary. She is certified in Kindermusik for children aged 18 months to 7 years of age. She is excited about the new opportunity that ministry among us offers. Mission Team working hard at raising funds. On April 21, twenty three teenagers will be off to New Orleans for a week of work. The group's task will principally be assisting families with reclaimation, and sadly - demolition, of homes. They will be eating, showering, and sleeping, (on the floor), at the Munholland Methodist Church in Metairie, LA. Fund-raising events include two pitch softball on March 19, the sale of mugs with the church image, work on the church grounds, and the premier event - the gala auction on April 7. Donations to the auction are warmly welcomed. Indeed, donations of any sort would be very much appreciated
